Umrah is a short (minor) pilgrimage and an opportunity to redeem oneself and to reconnect with one’s own spiritual purpose. Umrah is essentially a visit to Mecca and it involves performing the rituals of tawaf and sa’ay. Umrah can be performed at any time of the year except for the period of Hajj.

”Indeed، 'the hills of’ Safa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. So whoever performs the pilgrimage or minor pilgrimage, let them walk between ‘the two hills’. And whoever does good willingly, Allah is truly Appreciative, All-Knowing.” (1,158)
